winter is coming... Need help with an energy-saving renovation?

It seems like every day there is another story about how costly everything is becoming. Groceries, gas, and utility costs continue to escalate making the big-ticket items harder and harder to reach. You may be one of many families in the difficult situation of feeling financially strapped while facing another winter where heating costs will force you to further tighten your spending.

The good news is, there are programs that can help!

If your household fits within income levels set by Enbridge (you can find the guidelines here) or receive assistance from one of several government programs, you may qualify for Enbridge’s Home Winterproofing Program (HWP). The program offers you energy-saving upgrades, including insulation, at no cost. You can apply by calling 1-844-770-3148; the application only takes a few minutes to complete.

Another program available to residents of Toronto is the Home Energy Loan Program (HELP) offered by the city; applications are open now. The program provides eligible residents of detached, semi-detached or row houses in Toronto up to $125,000 towards home energy improvements including insulation and many other significant upgrades. Once the project is complete, repayment is processed via your property tax bills in terms up to 20 years. You can find out more about HELP here.

Both programs bring worthwhile investments in your home, and your family’s comfort, within reach.
